Introduction to Key Advocacy Areas

 

In this class trainees will become familiarized with some key advocacy areas including, Permanency, Health, CSEC, Juvenile Justice, and Non Minor Dependents.

Goals for this class include:

  • Introduction to the concept of social-emotional permanency in relation to legal permanency.

  • Learn how to advocate for social-emotional and legal permanency

  • Become familiar with the health rights (physical, mental, reproductive and sexual) of foster youth.

  • Learn about the risk factors and signs of CSEC and how to support a youth vulnerable to, or who has experienced, CSEC.
